FRIDGE FREESTYLN’ EP.25 @shawnwasabi
THE DISH:
Parmesan Wasabi Churros
Three Meat Ragu
PRIMARY INSPO
-Shawn is a music producer with award winning songs & has worked with artists like @saweetie for NANi, @twicetagram @_zyozyo “Wishing on you”, @unis_offcl “Datin’ Myself” & @arcaneshow “Wasteland”. Not to mention Shawn also invented the Midi Fighter 64 & produced Marble Soda with samples from 153 different tracks & songs that went viral with over 1M views in under 48 hours. His ability to mix & combine unique sounds & genres into hit songs is my biggest inspiration for trying to create a dish for him that blends & brings different ingredients from various cultures together
SECONDARY INSPO
-With an industry name like Shawn Wasabi, I had to make sure I incorporated wasabi in some way. By using it in the dough, it gave a peppery sharpness that’s distinct & unique; just like Shawn’s music style
-Shawn recently came back from Japan(one of his favorite places in the world); he shared with me he went & had some of the best pizza in his life. This conversation is when I wanted to create an Italian/Japanese dish using ingredients from both cultures.
-Shawn shares a love of fitness & has been on his own fitness journey. This is why I wanted to create a ragu that used a lot of protein sources… because gains!
-Shawn lives in California, I love the Mexican/Latin culture there & wanted to tie that with his background (although Filipino) & that latin connection there; thus wanted to make churros as the main part of the dish.
